Alex Yaghoubi — Personal Portfolio Website
Overview:
A personal portfolio website backed by a full CMS rather than static content, allowing the client to add or update projects and writing on an ongoing basis without developer involvement.
My Role:
Freelance frontend developer — sole developer on the project, from architecture through to CMS integration.
Technologies:
• Next.js 16 (with server-side rendering)
• Tailwind CSS 4
• Motion
• TypeScript
• Octavia AI-CMS API
• Docker
Challenges & Achievements:
• Connected the site to Octavia's AI-CMS API so projects, case studies, and writing can be added or edited without a code change or redeploy.
• Kept the design intentionally restrained — typography- and whitespace-driven, using Tailwind CSS with selective Motion transitions — so the work stays the focus rather than the interface around it.
• Implemented server-side rendering (SSR) for fast, indexable pages, given that a meaningful share of portfolio traffic arrives via search.
• Containerized the build with Docker for reproducibility, despite the project's small scope.
